Step 2: Site Visit & Feasibility Study
After your free zoning analysis, the next step is an on-site meeting to gain a deeper understanding of your property and your goals for the ADU.
This visit provides the real-world context we need to design a home that truly belongs on your land from day one.
What We Do On Site
During the visit, we walk the property with you to study the conditions that will shape your project:
Access: How vehicles, materials, and residents will safely enter and move through the site
Soils & Grading: To anticipate drainage, foundation needs, and long-term stability
Obstructions: Trees, ledge, or utilities that may influence placement
Views & Sunlight: To capture natural light, privacy, and outdoor living potential
This is our opportunity to see what maps and surveys can’t show—how your property actually feels.
Learning From You
We also take this time to understand your vision. What do you love about your property? Which views or features matter most? Is the ADU for rental income, family, or future flexibility? Your input helps us align design and placement with how you want to live.
Why It Matters
The site visit transforms zoning data into a grounded design strategy. By combining our research with first-hand observations, we can:
Fine-tune your ADU’s orientation for sunlight, ventilation, and privacy
Plan efficient grading and drainage
Ensure safe, practical access for construction and daily use
Recommend the best construction method — modular or site-built — based on your site and goals
The $500 flat rate for the site visit is non-refundable, however it is fully credited toward your overall budget if you move forward.
Your Next Step
From here, we transition into Step 3: Design Development, where your ADU begins to take shape.
